Akrivi Taousiani

Akrivi Taousiani is a Senior Lecturer in Classics and Language Director at King's College London, specializing in Ancient Greek language pedagogy and Sophoclean drama. Her research examines rhetorical strategies in Greek tragedy, particularly the interplay between persuasion and deception in Sophocles' works.

Dr. Taousiani's publications analyze the concept of dolos in Philoctetes and challenge Platonic epistemology through tragic theatricality. She teaches Ancient Greek at all levels and develops curricula on translation theory and classical reception.

Her upcoming monograph explores the tragic agon in 5th-century literature, investigating how dramatic conflict structures moral and political discourse. Taousiani has taught at University College London and the Open University of Cyprus.
