Akeisha Belgrave

Dr. Akeisha Belgrave is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics and Biological Sciences at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of Connecticut Health Center, a B.Sc. in Optical Engineering from Norfolk State University, and an A.S. in Biology, Physics & Mathematics from Barbados Community College.

Her research focuses on cell analysis, bacterial motility, and biofilm dynamics, particularly exploring aquatic biofilms' impact on ecosystems and bacterial cell wall turnover effects on antibiotic efficacy. She actively mentors undergraduate students in experiential projects and independent research.

Dr. Belgrave has been involved in university events such as hosting the Pennsylvania Academy of Science's 100th Annual Meeting and organizing the Annual Student Research Symposium. Her work bridges computational modeling with biological systems, contributing to interdisciplinary scientific inquiry.
