Akash Raja is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and a Research Fellow at the Danish Finance Institute (DFI). He holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics (2023), and completed his undergraduate and master's studies in Economics at the University of Cambridge.
His research focuses on macro-finance, with a particular emphasis on household finance and banking. He employs large micro-level datasets and advanced microeconometric techniques to analyze topics such as retail investor behavior, bank capital regulation, and systemic risk. Notable works include studies on stock market participation dynamics and the effects of capital requirements on banking sector operations.
Raja’s publications span peer-reviewed journals like the Journal of Econometrics and policy-oriented reports from institutions like the Bank of England and CEPR. His recent work explores regulatory frameworks for financial stability and the interplay between credit markets and economic crises.
