Aimie Hope is a Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences and Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, working with Dr. Naomi Vaughan on the Leverhulme-funded 'Beyond Cost & Carbon' project investigating carbon dioxide removal policy integration. Starting October 7, 2025, she transitions to a Research Associate position at the University of Manchester with the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) and Tyndall Centre.
She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Sheffield and has held diverse research positions across environmental, health, and education sectors. Her previous roles include Research Fellow at the University of Surrey's Centre for Research in Social Simulation, Research Associate at the University of Bath's Psychology department, Senior Research Associate at UEA's School of Health Sciences, and Research Associate at Inspiration Trust.
Her research focuses on behavior change related to climate action and energy systems, using mixed-methods approaches to examine how people interact with environmental technologies and policies. She specializes in stakeholder engagement with policymakers, practitioners, and the public, with particular expertise in translating research into actionable climate policy insights.
Her publication portfolio shows strong interdisciplinary impact across environmental psychology, energy policy, and social science, with multiple papers receiving significant policy attention and media coverage. Her work on religious influences on environmental attitudes was particularly influential, reaching 441 Mendeley readers and cited across 25 news outlets.
She actively disseminates findings through major conferences including the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference, British Environmental Psychology Society meetings, and Tyndall Centre events, maintaining strong connections between academic research and real-world climate action.
