Ahu Tatli is a Professor of International Human Resource Management at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), where she also earned her PhD. She holds a BSc in Sociology and MA in Political Science. She is a member of the Department of People and Organisations and the Centre for Research in Equality and Diversity (CRED). Her research focuses on equality, diversity, and privilege in organizations, with a particular emphasis on gender, race, class, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. She has authored/co-authored influential books including Global Diversity Management and Pierre Bourdieu, Organisation and Management.
Her teaching includes undergraduate modules on Work and Employment, and she supervises PhD students exploring topics like transgender diversity policy, gender inequality in music industries, and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. She has secured grants from institutions like the ESRC and UAE Federal Demographic Council, and her work has been recognized with Emerald Awards for excellence in research. She serves as a key academic contributor to diversity policy debates in the UK and globally, bridging academic research with practitioner needs.
Ahu’s research outputs span leading journals such as Academy of Management Review, Gender, Work & Organization, and Human Relations. Her recent work examines intersectionality, privilege dynamics, and the socio-political dimensions of diversity management. She collaborates with organizations like the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Arts Council England to translate research into actionable policies.
