Prof. Dr. Ahmet AKKAYA is a faculty member at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. He holds a professorship since 2021 and has served in various academic and administrative roles, including Head of the Department since 2013 and Director of the TÖMER program (Turkish Preparatory Course for international students) from 2014 to 2019. His academic journey includes degrees from Fırat University (B.A. 2005, M.A. 2008), Anadolu University (B.A. Public Administration 2008), and Selçuk University (Ph.D. 2011).

His research focuses on Turkish education, teaching Turkish to foreigners, visual literacy, and children's literature. He has also served as a consultant to NGOs and developed training programs for Turkish language teachers in Syria.
Prof. AKKAYA has received awards in Algeria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Romania for his work in Turkish education. His recent publications emphasize emergency education strategies, language policy in North Macedonia, and the role of educational games in language learning.
He has led the Continuing Education Center at Adıyaman University (2018–2023) and contributed to academic journals and editorial boards, including Base for Electronic Educational Sciences and Children's Literature. His work bridges pedagogical innovation with practical educational challenges in multilingual and refugee contexts.
