Agnes Fanning is a DPhil candidate and Stipendiary Lecturer at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. Her doctoral research focuses on the transnational political engagement of Argentine novelist Salvadora Medina Onrubia and Brazilian writer Patrícia Galvão (Pagu), examining intersections between literature and left-wing movements in 20th-century Latin America. She holds a BA and MPhil in Modern Languages (Spanish and Portuguese) from Lincoln College, funded by prestigious scholarships including the AHRC and Clarendon Fund.
Teaching: In Michaelmas Term 2023, she lectured on Spanish-language translation, Hispanic prose and poetry, and 19th–21st-century prose by Spanish American women writers. Her peer-reviewed publication in Portuguese Studies explores spatial themes in Galvão's work.
Awards: Recipient of AHRC Oxford-Open-Cambridge DTP, Clarendon Fund, and Merton College scholarships.
