Afshan Barshan

Afshan Barshan is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering, affiliated with the Master of Project Management Program. With over 27 years of construction experience, he specializes in healthcare and multifamily residential projects across North America and internationally.

His educational background includes:

• M.S. in Construction Management from Michigan State University
• B.E. in Construction Engineering from University of Bombay

As Senior Vice President at Skender, he leads the multifamily business unit managing affordable housing, market-rate housing, senior living, and apartment projects. Mr. Barshan is a founding member of the Lean Construction Institute Chicago Community of Practice and established student chapters at Northwestern University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Illinois State University during his tenure as Chair (2019-2020).
