معرفی
Afrouz Behboudi is a Professor of Biomedicine at Örebro University (since 2015) and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation. She also holds a Professorship at the University of Skövde. Her research focuses on cancer biology, particularly identifying genes that slow cell growth to develop new treatments.
Educations:
- PhD in Genetics from University of Gothenburg (2002), Thesis: Cytogenetics and Molecular Changes Involving Rat Chromosome 10 in Experimental Endometrial Adencarcinoma
- Docent of Experimental Clinical Genetics at Sahlgrenska Academy (2008)
Research Interests: Behboudi investigates braking mechanisms in cell growth using computer modeling and advanced mathematics. Her breakthrough identified two genes that halt cancer cell proliferation by comparing tumor and normal tissue via gene expression analysis and methylation studies. Current efforts focus on decoding how these genes regulate growth to improve tumor classification and personalized treatments.
International Role: As Pro-Vice-Chancellor, she oversees Örebro University's strategic partnerships and international exchanges, aligning with institutional priorities for global collaboration.
