Adrián Lerner is an Assistant Professor of Latin American History at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of History. Previously, he held positions including Philomathia Fellow at the Consortium for the Global South (Cambridge), Lecturer/Research Fellow in Global History at the Free University of Berlin, and Princeton-Mellon Fellow in Urbanization and the Environment at Princeton University.
Education: BA and Licenciatura in Humanities/History from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Perú); MA, MPhil, and PhD from Yale University (USA).
Research focuses on modern Latin America, emphasizing the Andes, Brazil, and Amazon Rainforest. Key themes include environmental history, urbanization, public health, gender, political violence, human rights, development, international relations, and authoritarian politics, often linking regional dynamics to global processes.
