Adrienne Minerick

Adrienne Minerick is a Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Affiliated Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Michigan Technological University. She joined the faculty as an Associate Professor in 2009, was promoted to Professor in 2015, and became Distinguished Professor in 2024. She also serves as President of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

Research Interests:

Minerick’s work focuses on electrokinetic phenomena, particularly dielectrophoresis for medical microdevices and point-of-care diagnostics. Her lab explores blood cell dynamics, pH gradient generation in AC fields, and biomaterial manipulation. She also investigates intersectional equity in STEM education, diversity advocacy programs, and inclusive academic policies.

Service & Leadership:

Minerick chairs ASEE’s National Diversity Committee and previously led the American Electrophoresis Society. Her work emphasizes equity in faculty retention, promotion processes, and student success.

Director of the micro Medical Device Engineering Research Laboratory (uM.D.-ERL), focusing on translational biomedical engineering and diagnostic technologies.
