معرفی
Adrienne Loh is a Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL) since 1996. She holds adjunct roles at Cornell University (Visiting Associate Professor, 2000–2005/2008) and Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Visiting Researcher, 2013–2020). She served as Interim Associate Dean of the School of Education (2017–2023) and Chair of the Department of Educational Studies (2014–2020). Her research focuses on designing peptide antibiotics to combat antibiotic resistance, using techniques like NMR spectroscopy, circular dichroism, and isothermal titration calorimetry. She collaborates with institutions globally, including teams in Paris and Ithaca.
Education: B.Sc. in Chemistry & Mathematics from McGill University (1984–1989), followed by M.S. and Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Cornell University (1989–1995). She teaches courses such as Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, and General Chemistry.
Research emphasizes understanding how peptide structure influences antibiotic efficacy against microbial membranes. Her work bridges biophysical chemistry and clinical applications, addressing global health challenges like antibiotic resistance. Collaborative projects include studying protein dynamics in signal transduction pathways, particularly in GluR2 AMPA receptors and Cdc42Hs proteins.
