Dhammika Muesse

Dhammika Muesse is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Rhodes College. Her academic focus lies in structural biology, particularly the study of protein-DNA interactions using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and thermodynamic analysis. She has previously conducted postdoctoral research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she investigated the structural dynamics of the winged-helix DNA binding domain in the proto-oncoprotein Qin.

Her research explores how structural changes in proteins like Qin and human FOXG1B affect DNA binding and oncogenesis, utilizing advanced techniques such as NMR and isothermal calorimetry. Her publications highlight work on peptide-metal ion interactions, enzyme inhibition, and protein resonance assignments.
