Adrien Charannat

Adrien Charannat is a Permanent Member and University Professor at the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), affiliated with the COSTECH research laboratory (EA 2223) and the EPIN team. His work bridges Information and Communication Sciences with practical applications in digital media and narrative design.

Charannat's research investigates structural coherence and canonical boundaries in transmedia narratives, utilizing role-playing games as experimental frameworks to study community formation within fictional universes. His current PhD thesis, supervised by Serge Bouchardon and Bruno Bachimont since October 2023, explores "Coherence, canonicity and communities: role-playing as a laboratory for transmedia narratives".

As an active member of the EPIN team at COSTECH, he contributes to interdisciplinary projects integrating game design methodologies with narrative theory and user experience research.
