Dr. Adriana Fabritius is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Law and Docent in Intellectual History at the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies (Faculty of Arts), University of Helsinki. She serves as President of the European Society for the History of Political Thought and Associate Editor for the History of European Political and Constitutional Thought (Brill).
Her research focuses on early modern intellectual history with specializations in:
- Political thought and republicanism
- Natural law and legal philosophy
- History of political economy
- Spanish and Neapolitan Enlightenment
- Transformation of imperial structures
Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on Mediterranean liberalism, reform movements, and conceptual transformations in political discourse between 1650-1850. Thematic analysis reveals strong emphasis on:
- Crisis and renewal in political systems
- Translation and adaptation of political concepts
- Interplay between law and societal organization
She leads multiple research projects including:
- Humanity’s Pact for Survival: Eighteenth Century Narratives of Crisis (2023-present)
- Cameralism as a European Political Science (2018-2022)
- Visions of Sociability in Early-Modern Neapolitan Political Thought (2016-2018)
