Adriana Bunea is a Professor in the Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen, Norway. She serves as Principal Investigator for the ERC Starting Grant project 'CONSULTATIONEFFECTS – Effects of stakeholder consultations on the inputs, processes and outcomes of executive policymaking' (2019-2024). Her research focuses on European Union governance, lobbying and interest groups, stakeholder participation, and the legitimacy of policymaking processes.

Her work examines how stakeholder consultations affect policy design, the role of reputation-building in EU institutions, and the political consequences of regulatory reforms. She has published extensively on interest group influence, lobbying regulation, and transparency mechanisms in the European Union.
Her scientific awards include the ERC Starting Grant (2018), Marie Curie Research Fellowship (2014-2016), Max Weber Fellowship (2013-2014), Fulbright-Schuman Fellowship (2012-2013), and Fernand Braudel Fellowship (2022). She has served on the editorial boards of the European Journal of Political Research, Journal of European Public Policy, and Journal of Politics (2021-2024).
