Adriana Alvarez is an Assistant Professor in the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education program at the University of Colorado Denver School of Education & Human Development. She serves as Co-Book Editor for the Bilingual Research Journal and maintains affiliations with the Renée Crown Wellness Institute and Culture, Language, and Social Practice (CLASP) at CU Boulder.

Her research focuses on biliteracy and family engagement through equity-oriented and strength-based approaches in Spanish-speaking communities. Specializing in bilingual education and culturally responsive pedagogy, she has developed frameworks for leveraging students' funds of knowledge and identity in educational practices.
