Dr. Adrian Tüllinghoff is a PostDoc researcher in the Department of Microbial Biotechnology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig. His work focuses on applied biocatalysis, particularly leveraging cyanobacteria like Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 for light-driven bioprocesses. He holds a PhD from the Helmholtz Centre (2023) and a Master's in Biochemistry from MLU Halle-Wittenberg, with a thesis at Chalmers University on CRISPR-based genetic engineering in yeast. His research emphasizes sustainable biotechnology, including optimizing bioprocess efficiency and renewable resource utilization. Notable achievements include developing scalable biocatalytic systems and receiving the 2024 UFZ Doctoral Award and the 2022 VAAM Poster Award. He is part of the Applied Biocatalysis working group, contributing to projects like 'Tapping Nature's Potential' and exploring microbial systems for net-zero technologies.
