Adrian Stewart is a design studio tutor and lecturer at The Glasgow School of Art, teaching Stages 3, 4, and 5. Born in Belfast, he studied at Queens University and completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture at Strathclyde University in 1998. As a practicing architect and Certified Passive House Designer, Adrian founded DO-Architecture in 2005, a Glasgow-based collaborative studio that merges architectural practice with art, music, and cultural activism.

Adrian's research explores sustainable architecture through lighting design, Passive House principles, conservation, and deep retrofitting of historic buildings. His work emphasizes energy efficiency and innovative approaches to preserving and transforming built environments, often intersecting with art and cultural practices.
His projects include a Net Zero crematorium and the graffiti art gallery for SWG3, demonstrating a commitment to people-centered, environmentally harmonious architecture. Adrian also co-founded GLAS Co-operative, a worker-led collective of architects, designers, and activists.
