Adrian Sandu

Adrian Sandu is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, affiliated with the College of Engineering. He leads the Computational Science Laboratory and specializes in numerical methods, high-performance computing, uncertainty quantification, and sensitivity analysis. His education includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences from the University of Iowa, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Technical University Bucharest. He has held roles at Michigan Tech and Courant Institute before joining Virginia Tech in 2003. His research focuses on advancing computational techniques for science and engineering applications, alongside educating future computational scientists.
