Adrian Harding is Associate Professor and Department Chair of Comparative Literature and English at The American University of Paris. His research spans modernist poetry, European romanticism, and literary translation.
He investigates narrative poetics, performance theory, and textual-visual relationships in 19th-20th century literature. Recent work explores embodiment in realist texts and prosodic semantics in Henry James' writings.
Publications include critical editions on Henry James and Nathaniel Hawthorne, alongside poetry collections. He co-founded the European Society for Jamesian Studies and participates in British Academy literary reception research.
