Steven Petersheim is an Associate Professor of English and Honors Program Director at Toccoa Falls College. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Baylor University, M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and B.S. from Frostburg State University.
His diverse research spans literature and theology, environmental humanities, ethnic American literature, and creative writing. Teaching responsibilities include courses in Shakespeare, American Literature, and Science Fiction.
Publications demonstrate strong focus on ecocritical approaches to 19th-century American literature, notably Nathaniel Hawthorne studies, alongside creative works exploring environmental consciousness and spiritual themes. Recent scholarship increasingly engages with indigenous narratives and theological poetics.
