Adrian Devine

Dr Adrian Devine serves as Senior Lecturer and Course Director for the BSc (Hons) Event Management program within the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ulster University Business School. Based at the Coleraine campus, he maintains an active research profile while contributing to academic leadership through roles including membership on the Editorial Advisory Board for the International Hospitality Student Journal and external examiner duties at Dublin Institute of Technology.

His educational background includes a BSc in Sport Studies (1994), followed by MSc degrees in International Tourism Management (1997) and Sport, Exercise and Health (1998), culminating in a PhD examining Inter-organisational Relationships within the Sports Tourism Policy Arena (2008). Prior to joining Ulster University in 2001, he gained practical experience in leisure management within the private sector.

Devine's research focuses on the intersection of events, tourism, and societal impact, with particular emphasis on sports tourism, social capital development in divided societies, virtual event experiences, and cultural diversity management. His work demonstrates consistent engagement with contemporary challenges in event management, including post-pandemic adaptations and peacebuilding applications.
