Adrian De La Court

Adrian De La Court serves as Director of the MA Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship and Director of SYNAPSE at the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship (ICCE) at Goldsmiths, University of London. With a background as both an artist and academic, he has developed a strong portfolio career that bridges creative practice with entrepreneurial education in the cultural sector.

Originally trained as an artist and dancer, De La Court brings extensive practical experience to his academic role, having previously served as Head of Physical Theatre, Contemporary Dance and Outdoor & Site Specific Performance courses at Northbrook College (University of Brighton). His research focuses on developing training packages for cultural organizations around audience development, business modeling, and financial management, with particular emphasis on inclusive approaches that support marginalized communities within the creative economy.

De La Court's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on cultural entrepreneurship, sustainable enterprise models, and inclusive business practices. His work with SYNAPSE and the Sustainable Enterprise London Festival (SELF) has created innovative approaches to enterprise education that blend artistic practice with business acumen. These initiatives particularly target supporting working-class individuals and those with protected characteristics within the creative economy.

As a practitioner-academic, De La Court maintains active engagement with the creative industries through freelance consulting work with organizations including the Cultural Enterprise Office in Glasgow, Copenhagen School for Entrepreneurship, Scottish Enterprise, NESTA, and Business Link. His dual commitment to artistic practice and academic leadership informs his unique approach to creative entrepreneurship education.

He has also developed significant projects including the Good Innovation Lab Tools (GILT) for third sector organizations and has collaborated with Paul Hamlyn Foundation on workshops addressing racial justice, entrepreneurship, and systemic change, demonstrating his commitment to equity and inclusion in the creative sectors.
