Adrian Brändli

Adrian Brändli holds dual leadership roles at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) as Head of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and Co-Head of the International Office within the School of Engineering and Environment. He serves as a Lecturer for Culture and Communication, teaching foundational Writing and Rhetoric courses alongside History in Humanities and Social Sciences. Previously, he held academic positions at the Universities of Bern, Oxford, and Zurich, and managed scientific programming at Rome's Istituto Svizzero.

Research Focus: Dr. Brändli specializes in Late Antiquity's societal transformations, particularly early Christianity's emergence and the social mechanics of religious conflicts. His interdisciplinary work bridges historical analysis of the late Roman Empire with contemporary social theory, examining how religious identity formation and intergroup tensions reshaped political structures and cultural norms during antiquity's transition to the medieval era. This research provides critical insights into historical patterns of religious pluralism and conflict resolution relevant to modern societal challenges.
