Adrian Blow is a Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Michigan State University, where he previously served as Chair and Director of the Couple and Family Therapy program. His research focuses on military families, trauma recovery, infidelity, and common factors in family therapy. He holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University in Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently on sabbatical through 2024-2025, he is not accepting graduate students.
Education includes a Ph.D. from Purdue University, M.A. from Abilene Christian University, and B.A. from the University of South Africa. His work emphasizes culturally adapted interventions, military family resilience, and systemic therapeutic approaches. He has contributed to clinical practices such as emotionally focused couple therapy and authored training materials for systemic family therapy techniques.

His articles explore topics like Ugandan mental health systems, deployment effects on soldiers, and therapeutic alliance-building. Blow has led initiatives to strengthen mental health support for National Guard families and contributed to international family therapy training programs in Africa and East Asia.
