Adolfo Lagomasino

Adolfo Lagomasino is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Communication Department at the University of Tampa. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida (2020), an M.A. from California State University Northridge (2013), and a B.A. from Florida International University (2009).

Lagomasino specializes in cultural studies, ethnography of place, public/cultural memory, performance studies, and activism. His recent research explores the Dérive as a mobile ethnographic method, published in the journal Liminalities, with a focus on exile and transnational identity tied to the Tampa-Cuban community.

His awards include recognition at the Speech Communication Association (SSCA) for competitively selected papers in Ethnography, Performance Studies, and Rhetoric divisions. Lagomasino teaches Intercultural Communication and Mass Media and Society, emphasizing critical approaches to memory and activism.
