- PhD in Architectural History, Theory, and Criticism, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Master's in Architectural Studies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

His work bridges MIT-trained scholarship with on-ground urban challenges in Bangladesh, particularly Dhaka's megacity dynamics and rural transformation.
Recent publications (2019-2024) reveal three dominant trends: (1) field-based interventions in urban repair and design activism; (2) environmental justice frameworks addressing eco-grief and spatial inequality; and (3) global architectural historiography decentering Eurocentric narratives through South Asian case studies.
Major recognitions include:
- Wyeth Fellowship at CASVA, National Gallery of Art
- Verville Postdoctoral Fellowship, Smithsonian Institution
- Wolfsonian Fellowship, Florida International University
- Society of Architectural Historians Fellowship
Research funding includes competitive grants from the Graham Foundation and National Endowment for the Humanities. He serves on the Society of Architectural Historians Board, editorial boards of leading journals, and NEH grant juries. His advisory leadership includes chairing the Alice Davis Hitchcock Book Award committee and directing MIT's $4.5M Global Architecture History Teaching Collaborative.
He founded BRAC University's Center for Inclusive Architecture and Urbanism, driving interdisciplinary research on equitable urban development. Complementing academic work, he is a Daily Star columnist and TEDxFoggyBottom speaker examining design's role in global citizenship.
