Adnan Prsic

Adnan Prsic, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with advanced training in Hand and Microsurgery. He serves as Associate Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency, Clerkship Director for Plastic Surgery, and Associate Course Director for Gross Anatomy. His clinical expertise focuses on congenital and traumatic hand/wrist disorders, employing both surgical and non-surgical approaches.

Dr. Prsic’s education includes Bowdoin College (Biochemistry/German) and Harvard Medical School. He completed Plastic Surgery residency and Chief Residency at Brown University, followed by a Hand & Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles, with research interests in 3D printing applications, medical education innovation, and hand trauma outcomes.

His research has explored topics such as 3D-printed surgical tools, opioid prescribing patterns post-trigger finger surgery, and ethical considerations in digit replantation. He is actively involved in surgical education, contributing to curriculum development and simulation-based training programs.

Dr. Prsic has received prestigious awards including Alpha Omega Alpha and The Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award. He is affiliated with the Hand and Microsurgery Program and collaborates with the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center (HIPRC). His clinical practice emphasizes patient-centered care, balancing surgical and conservative treatment options tailored to individual lifestyles.
