Adell Amos holds the Clayton R. Hess Professor of Law at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she serves as Executive Director for the Environment Initiative. She teaches in the nationally ranked Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program, covering courses like Water Law, Federal Administrative Law, and Environmental Conflict Resolution.

Her research focuses on jurisdictional governance structures for water resource management, examining federal-state dynamics, administrative agencies, stakeholder participation, and law-policy integration. She leads a NOAA/NSF-funded interdisciplinary project modeling the Willamette River Basin’s future water availability.
Recent publications include peer-reviewed articles in Nature Sustainability and PNAS, addressing climate-water interactions, drought management, and policy modeling. She also contributes to book chapters, policy briefs, and public commentary on water rights and environmental governance.
