معرفی
Adele Adamo is a Researcher at the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources (IBBR), part of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), based in Naples. She holds a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Naples “Federico II” and has been continuously engaged in research at CNR since 2002, advancing from Research Fellow to her current position as CNR Ricercatore III level since 2018.
Her research focuses on genome stability, DNA repair, meiosis, and germ cell apoptosis in Caenorhabditis elegans. She has made significant contributions to understanding the roles of key DNA repair proteins such as RAD-51, BRC-1 (BRCA1 homolog), and FCD-2 (FANCD2 homolog), as well as epigenetic mechanisms like RNA interference and transgene cosuppression in inducing germ-line DNA damage. Her work has revealed novel, strand invasion-independent roles for RAD-51 in apoptosis regulation and clarified the recruitment dynamics of FANCD2 during meiosis.
The recent articles highlight a consistent focus on DNA damage response pathways, meiotic regulation, and repair mechanisms in C. elegans, with an increasing emphasis on isoform-specific functions and epigenetic influences. Her work bridges molecular genetics with developmental biology, offering insights relevant to cancer and genetic disorders.
She has collaborated with leading international researchers from institutions including Stanford University, Cancer Research UK, the University of Sheffield, and Harvard Medical School, reflecting her integration into the global scientific community.
