Adel Mburia Mwalili

Adel Mburia Mwalili is a Teaching Associate Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, affiliated with the School of Public Health. She specializes in epidemiological research with a focus on maternal and child health, birth defects, social support systems, and intimate partner violence. Her work integrates public health, epidemiology, and health policy frameworks.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to birth defect surveillance, social determinants of health, and behavioral epidemiology. Her 2015 study on interpregnancy intervals and birth defects established critical epidemiological links, while her 2010 research on intimate partner violence emphasized the role of social support in mitigating mental health impacts.
