Adam de Paor-Evans is an Associate Professor in Cultural Theory at the University of Plymouth, where he previously served as Reader in Ethnomusicology and Director of the Creative Practice Research Academy. His interdisciplinary research explores the intersections of music culture, spatial practice, and ethnomusicology through the Rhythm Obscura project.
Education includes a PhD from University of Central Lancashire. His work examines hidden histories of music and material culture in relation to urban/rural space and identity formation.
Research Interests: Focuses on post-Moore systems of cultural production, particularly hip-hop's evolution in regional contexts. Investigates the intertextuality of music cultures, spatial practices, and community identity.
Publications: Include three monographs on British hip-hop culture and numerous articles analyzing music's role in societal structures and regional identities. Recent work explores the cultural significance of diss tracks and pioneering UK artists.
Teaching: Developed multidisciplinary streams in critical contextual studies at UCLan and currently teaches architectural theory bridging spatial practice and cultural studies.
