Fernando Orejuela is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University Bloomington (College of Arts & Sciences). He teaches courses on Hip Hop culture, children's folklore, and research methodologies while maintaining an active research agenda in youth subcultures and popular music.
- Education: Ph.D., Indiana University (2005)
His research focuses on Hip Hop's global influence, body art practices in subcultures, and the intersection of youth culture with music and folklore traditions. Recent publications examine Black Lives Matter's musical expressions and the evolution of Hip Hop pedagogy.
