Dr. Adam Widera is a Managing Director of the Competence Center Crisis Management and the Chair of Business Information Systems and Logistics at the University of Münster. He holds a doctoral degree in Supply Chain Management and Humanitarian Logistics. His research focuses on crisis management, humanitarian logistics, simulation-based decision support, and ICT applications in disaster scenarios. He has led numerous research projects funded by EU and national grants, including DRIVER+, ForAn, and LINKS. Widera serves on editorial boards for journals like the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management and has organized key conferences such as ISCRAM and Decision Sciences Institute. His work bridges academic research with practitioner needs, emphasizing practical tools like the Trial Guidance Methodology (TGM) and GDACSmobile assessment tools.
Education: Doctorate (Dr. rer. pol) in Supply Chain Management (2022), Münster School of Business and Economics; Magister Artium in Political Science, Philosophy, and Political Economy (2005), University of Münster.
Research interests include performance measurement systems for humanitarian logistics, crisis simulation frameworks, enterprise architecture management for blood supply chains, and digital innovation in disaster response. He has pioneered tools for cross-border pandemic management and evaluated cash-based assistance systems using machine learning. Over 50 publications span peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and edited books.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Competence Center Crisis Management and collaborates with the Humanitarian Logistics Council of Germany. Active in ISCRAM and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).
