Adam Sutherland is Associate Professor in Healthcare Quality & Safety at the University of Bradford's School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences. His research applies human factors methodologies to improve medication safety systems for vulnerable populations.
Research Focus: Sutherland investigates medication safety in paediatric and neonatal contexts using mixed-methods approaches. His NIHR-funded doctoral research developed frameworks for understanding resilience in complex healthcare systems.
Clinical Expertise: With 20+ years as a hospital pharmacist specializing in paediatric critical care, Sutherland has contributed to national safety initiatives including:
