Dr. Adam Schmitt is a Professor in the Department of Education and Department of History at the University of Southern Maine (USM). He teaches courses such as Education, Schooling, and Democracy, Secondary Social Studies Methods, and Race in American Schooling. As a former middle school social studies teacher, he now focuses on teacher education and critical history pedagogy.
