Adam Prus is Professor and Head of the Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University (NMU), College of Arts and Sciences. He earned a B.S. and M.A. in Psychology from Western Michigan University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in Psychopharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Research Interests:
Dr. Prus leads the Neuropsychopharmacology Lab and conducts NIH-, foundation-, and industry-funded studies on the behavioral effects of psychoactive drugs. His work uses drug-discrimination, conditioned place preference, ultrasonic vocalization, and operant paradigms to evaluate novel pharmacotherapies for depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and substance-use disorders, with a special focus on neurotensin receptor ligands and atypical antipsychotics.
