Adam Michael Knight is an Applied Lecturer in Jazz Guitar at Clemson University's College of Arts and Humanities, Department of Performing Arts. He concurrently teaches jazz at the University of South Carolina. Holding a Master of Music (New England Conservatory, 2006) and Bachelor of Music (Georgia State University), his expertise spans jazz performance, composition, and pedagogy.
His research interests focus on fusing jazz with funk, rock, and fusion genres through compositions for combos, guitar ensembles, and big bands. Notable works include the 2015 Earsight album and the 2018 Greenville Jazz Collective Big Band recording featuring his composition 'City of Roswell.'
Active in performance, Knight leads his jazz trio and performs with the Greenville Jazz Collective Big Band. He regularly performs at festivals and venues across the southeastern U.S., including STIR in Greenville and Fr8Yard in Spartanburg. His music has been featured on MTV and local radio stations, blending original compositions with tribute performances to artists like Phish and Grateful Dead.
