Dr. Adam Martin is an Associate Professor in Health Economics at the University of Leeds, serving as the Deputy Head of the Academic Unit of Health Economics within the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences. He is also the Director of Research and Innovation at the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences. His expertise spans health economics, applied econometrics, policy evaluation, and social determinants of health.

Research Interests: His research focuses on applied and methodological work in social determinants of health (especially diet and exercise), education and health, employment and health, transport and health, children and young people, financial incentives for healthier behaviors, obesity and type 2 diabetes, mental health, cancer, dementia, arthritis, and preference-based utility measures.
Current Research Collaborations: He collaborates with Leeds Beckett University, Sheffield Hallam University, Leeds Institute for Transport Studies, Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research, London Centre for Work and Health, University of Cambridge, and University of Southampton. His work has been funded by ESRC, EuroQol Research Foundation, EU, Highways England, MRC, NIHR, Nuffield Foundation, and UK-China Health and Economy Partnership.
Teaching and Supervision: He leads an undergraduate module in health economics at Leeds University Business School and supervises MSc, MRes, and PhD students. Current PhD students include Amwaj Abugamza, Xiaoxiang Dai, and Huahan Yang.
