Adam Glick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at Pennsylvania State University, and an IEE (Institutes of Energy and the Environment) Faculty Member. His research focuses on cancer mechanisms in squamous epithelia, particularly the role of TGFβ signaling in tumor promotion and progression. Glick's work integrates molecular biology, cell biology, and translational approaches to understand oncogenesis and develop novel therapies.
His research areas include cancer biology, cell signaling pathways, and the application of nanotechnology for targeted drug delivery. Key projects involve studying the interplay between TGFβ and oncogenic Ras in skin carcinogenesis, as well as leveraging ER stress responses for therapeutic interventions.
Recent publications highlight advancements in miRNA delivery via nanoparticles for cancer treatment, the role of IRE1α in regulating cellular responses to oncogenic stress, and the development of photodynamic therapies for epidermal tumors. These studies bridge basic science with clinical applications, emphasizing translational oncology.
Glick has contributed to initiatives such as the Penn State Cancer Biology Program and has collaborated on seed grants exploring health-environment interfaces. His work underscores the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in advancing cancer research.
