Adam Frey serves as Associate Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Studies at the University of North Georgia, where he is a globally recognized ambassador for the euphonium with an extensive international performance career spanning orchestras, wind bands, and brass ensembles worldwide.
His academic credentials include:
- Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from University of Salford (2017)
- Master of Music in Performance and Performance Diploma with Distinction from Royal Northern College of Music & University of Manchester (1999)
- Bachelor of Music in Performance, magna cum laude, from University of Georgia (1997)
Specializing in brass performance, Dr. Frey's research and pedagogical focus centers on euphonium repertoire development, brass chamber music, and instrumental pedagogy. He has directly shaped the field through over 120 commissioned works and arrangements while maintaining an active performance schedule with premier ensembles including the Boston Pops and U.S. Army Orchestra. His educational initiatives emphasize practical training through the International Euphonium Tuba Festival, which he founded and has directed for 14 years.
As Director of Instrumental Studies, Dr. Frey oversees brass pedagogy and performance programs while maintaining his professional performance career across five continents, including recent engagements in Singapore, Germany, and Brazil.
