Adam C. Dziorny

Adam C. Dziorny is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Critical Care and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He holds dual appointments and is affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group (URMFG). His expertise bridges data science and pediatric clinical care, with a focus on developing informatics solutions to enhance medical education and clinical decision-making. Dr. Dziorny completed his MD/PhD at the University of Rochester and a clinical informatics certificate at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by pediatric residency and dual subspecialty training in pediatric critical care and clinical informatics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

His research emphasizes using data-driven approaches to improve critical care outcomes, including the development of a software platform for resident-patient attribution and multi-institutional studies on acute kidney injury prediction. He has secured grants to advance graduate medical education and collaborates on projects addressing clinical decision support systems and electronic health record (EHR) optimization. Notable contributions include probabilistic linkage of clinical databases and studies on alert burden reduction in pediatric hospitals.

Dr. Dziorny has received awards such as the 2022 Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award and a Distinguished Poster Award (2018). His work spans over 30 peer-reviewed publications, focusing on critical care informatics, machine learning applications, and healthcare technology integration. He actively participates in collaborative networks like the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) group, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to solve complex clinical challenges.
