Adam Bodony

Adam Bodony is Associate Professor of Music in the Patti & Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance at Purdue University, where he directs the Philharmonic, Symphony, and Concert Orchestras and oversees the applied-music program. Since his arrival in 2015, orchestra enrollment has nearly doubled, prompting the creation of two additional ensembles.

Research & Creative Focus

Bodony’s scholarly and artistic work centers on orchestral conducting, trombone performance, and innovative music pedagogy. He is particularly invested in expanding collegiate orchestral programs and fostering high-level youth ensembles. His leadership has elevated Purdue’s orchestral profile through competitive national recognition, while his role as Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra extends his impact to pre-college musicians statewide.
