معرفی
Adam Blaisdell, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. His research focuses on cancer immunity, particularly how the intracellular checkpoint A20 orchestrates immune evasion in tumor microenvironments and how its inhibition could be harnessed for cancer treatment.
Dr. Blaisdell's educational background includes undergraduate degrees in Biology and Sociology from Case Western Reserve University (2006), followed by MD and PhD training in Medicine and Molecular Oncology & Immunology from NYU School of Medicine (2015-2017). He completed his residency in Internal Medicine (2019) and fellowship in Gastroenterology & Hepatology (2023), both at UCSF.
His research spans multiple disciplines including immunology, oncology, hematology, and reproductive biology, with particular expertise in neutrophil function within tumor microenvironments, ADAMTS13 protease research, and reproductive immunology. His current work as Principal Investigator on the Cancer Research Institute/Engelberg Postdoctoral Fellowship (2023-2025) focuses on A20's role in cancer immunity and CD8 T cell regulation.
His publication record from 2009-2022 reveals significant contributions to understanding neutrophil function in tumor environments, particularly their role in opposing uterine epithelial carcinogenesis through debridement of hypoxic tumor cells. His work also includes important research on ADAMTS13 variants, their expression patterns, and functional implications for hemostasis and thrombosis.
Dr. Blaisdell has received research funding through the Cancer Research Institute's Samuel and Ruth Engelberg Postdoctoral Fellowship (CRI4667), demonstrating recognition of his promising work in cancer immunology. His research has been cited over 250 times across his publications, with particular impact in the fields of tumor immunology and hematology.
His research collaborations include prominent investigators such as Adrian Erlebacher, Clifford Lowell, Uma Mahadevan, Michael Kattah, and Susan Fisher, reflecting interdisciplinary work spanning basic science and clinical applications. His conceptual networks derived from publications include key areas such as Trophoblasts, Carcinoma, Endometrioid, Uterus, ADAM Proteins, and Phagocytosis.
