Adam Benfield

Dr. Adam Benfield is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Appalachian State University. His research integrates paleoecology, sedimentology, and biogeochemistry to study Quaternary-period environmental changes in wetlands, lakes, and forests. Key projects analyze carbon cycling in Andean peatlands and ecosystem responses to deglaciation in North America.
