Ada Yonath

Ada Yonath is an Honorary Professor at the School of Medicine, European University Cyprus. She holds a BSc in Chemistry (1959) and MSc in Biochemistry (1964) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, followed by a PhD in X-ray crystallography from the Weizmann Institute of Science (1962). She completed postdoctoral research at MIT's Department of Chemistry in 1970. Her research focuses on biochemistry, structural biology, and X-ray crystallography, particularly in ribosome structure and protein chemistry.

She is renowned for her groundbreaking work, culminating in the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Her career spans academic leadership and contributions to understanding molecular structures critical to biological processes.
