Prof. Dr. Achim Arbeiter is a faculty member at the Georg-August University of Göttingen, where he has served as Professor of Christian Archaeology and Byzantine Art History since 1997. His career includes long-term affiliations with the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) in Rome and Madrid.
- Education: Studied art history, medieval/modern history, and ethnology at Mainz and Hamburg (1977-79), with a doctorate on Old St. Peter's in Rome (1983).
