Abioseh Porter serves as Professor of English and Director of Africana Studies at Drexel University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he previously led the Department of English & Philosophy from 2002 to 2015 and founded the Journal of the African Literature Association (JALA) in 2007 after editing its predecessor since 1998.
