Dr. Abigail Victoria Rutter is a Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at Keele University's School of Pharmacy & Bioengineering, serving since January 2019 (HEFC-funded). She holds leadership roles including Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Chair, Staff-Student Liaison Officer for MSc programs, Stage 1 Mentor, Elected Senate/Council Member, and Board Member for the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Digital Society Institute.

Research: Her multidisciplinary work applies spectrometry (SIFT-MS, GC-MS) and spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman) to develop non-invasive healthcare technologies. Focus areas include volatile organic compound analysis for disease biomarkers, stem cell metabolomics, 3D tissue models, and clinical translation for conditions like IBS and hearing loss. Current projects investigate metabolic outputs in stem cells and preclinical models using advanced analytical platforms.
